PREA

SINGER SONGWRITER│ LYRICIST

BIO

Born in Little Rock, AR, raised in Maryland, and currently based in Baltimore, MD, Prea (Preaundrea Franklin) is an R&B/Soul singer, songwriter, and photographer who conveys authenticity with each vocal performance. Prea has established herself with an incredible work ethic and attention to detail in her music.

At an early age, music would become her lifelong passion. Having parents who both sang in bands in the military, she started out by singing in choirs and being a clarinetist in her middle school and high school years. She then went on to study music theory and audio production at Mercy College in New York City. After studying guitar and doing open mics for several years she decided in her early 20s to become a songwriter like her influences Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack, and Amy Winehouse.

A late bloomer, she released her first EP "The Vibe Sessions" in 2017 and her first full length album, "Personal Storyteller" in 2020. Her music displays a mix of indie, neo-soul, and R&B. She carefully crafts songs with not only how she sees different situations, but also songs that other people can relate to. Aside from her music endeavors, she is an entrepreneur and owns a candle business (soulyscented.com) and has had her photography published in Mind to Medium Literary Magazine, an art and literary magazine published by Coppin State University. Prea plans to release more music projects and write for others. She looks forward to expanding as an artist and entrepreneur.
